Worship Leaders

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9

Evan Adams

As Evan Adams and I were getting to know each other, I asked him why he liked to worship the LORD. (Obvious question, right? We ALL love Jesus, right? We all want to worship Him. But each answer is so unique. I was so glad I asked!)

After Evan came to faith, he was sitting in his room one night, and the LORD told him to learn five worship songs. He had no clue … sing? play guitar? … but OK … he would learn five worship songs, which he did. Then, he was invited to lead worship in Haiti.  He told the organizers he only knew five songs. They said that was enough. That time in Haiti led to opportunity after opportunity. One day Yeshua changed his voice. He went from somebody who could not sing to somebody who could. Since then, he has been worshiping and worshiping and worshiping … and worshiping Yeshua Jesus. He and his wife were missionaries in Israel, the country of Georgia and India, traveled to Norway, Trinidad, Honduras, and other places … always leading worship. I have heard him. You are in for a Holy Spirit treat!

MONDAY, OCTOBER 10

Deborah Kline and Vince Iantorno

Deborah Kline and Vince Iantorno have been dear friends of mine for decades. I first met them at the national Messianic Jewish Conference, MJAA, where they were one of the lead worship teams. I’ll never forget it.  Deborah was very sick with some kind of infection, and running a fever. But the only fever any of us knew about that night was the fever of the LORD. Their music was SOOOO HOT, so on fire, so sweet, so pregnant with possibilities. Life. Joy. Sorrow. Exultation. Glory. Honor. All emotions were fair game, as long as they were redeemed in the LORD. Deborah’s mom is Puerto Rican, and the rhythms of the islands mix with the sounds of the Messianic Jewish culture in their music. A very rich, beautiful, provocative experience.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11

Janelle Tackett Collins and the Jesus Warehouse Worship Team

Have you ever been to a worship event where the team is completely free to follow the Holy Spirit? To go wherever the the Holy Spirit leads? And the team is really good musically? That’s Janelle Tackett Collins and the Jesus Warehouse worship team. As free in the Spirit as they come. When they lead worship, I don’t want it to ever stop. The anointing just keeps getting higher and higher and higher. Come and celebrate God’s Glory in sound!

Spirit Hawk, aka Randy Childress, Native flutist and drummer, will lead us in a drum circle to complete our evening of worship and praise.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12

Sheree Wright and Evan Hall

I suppose what I love most about Sheree Wright’s music is her emotional sensitivity, the extraordinary way she connects with others. Her songs reach out personally to the listener, bringing healing, encouragement, intimacy, vulnerability, transparency. They seem to say, “My Friend, just come away with me, just go a little deeper, a little wider, a little more transparently into the LORD’s Presence.” In her own words: “I collaborate with artists and songwriters around the world to craft a beautiful background for our lives, a creative expression that ties us together. My music is birthed in community and is designed for connection — to God and each other.”

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13

Julie Pretorious and Victoria Bobo

Why did I invite Julie Pretorious and her worship partner, Victoria Bobo, to lead worship at Sukkot Under the Stars? Because, after Julie told me she had trained as an opera singer, the most extraordinary Spirit-led song poured forth from her lips. As it erupted from her heart, Hebraic words and melodies poured forth a pure, cleansing, healing, restorative, grateful, sound from the LORD. She blessed the land upon which we were standing with the Presence of the Almighty God and I am forever grateful. The name of that land, “my” land, is “Beit Tiferet Emunah,” “Home for the Glorious, Harmonious Beauty of Faith,” and she sealed that statement there that day.

Julie and Victoria enjoy all kinds of creativity and craftsmanship from writing to singing to jewelry-making. They are passionate about the beauty of the Lord and all that means in worship and the arts

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14

Kyle Hurd and Sheree Wright (see info about Sheree on October 12)

Kyle’s list of credentials seems endless … leading worship from the age of thirteen, being a featured vocalist on a number of albums, including one Grammy nominated album, singing all over the United States and the world. But what struck my heart is what he said about himself. “My greatest desire and ultimate calling is to use the musical gifts God has given me to usher people into an intimate and authentic experience with Jesus. I just want to help people find Him and leave them at His feet where they can be changed by the deep, abiding, forever love of God.”

I personally know Kyle as a family man, with a deep, passionate, motivating love for his wife and two children. So excited to have him join us …

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15

Carly Taich, 7-8, and Susan Jackson, 8-9

There’s nothing quite like Carly’s clear, bell-like singing. Her lyrics take you into another world, an almost unknown world, where pain and joy appear and disappear in ironic metaphors, disturbing rational thought. Her music weaves a tale about disruption and pain, but her response, hidden in unusual images and symbolism, is simple. “Out with the tragic, in with the magic, something feels different now. Light in the darkness, calm in the chaos, give me a likeness to Thou.” Hers is political satire, emotional relevance, unheard of symbolism, a very contemporary expression of life… If you want to hear about God, but without any trappings of churchiness, then this night is for you. Here’s an example of her music:  https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=691542114941980

To listen to more of her music, go to https://www.carlytaich.com/music

Susan Jackson weaves a story of simple surrender to God through her worship.  Her music brings in the very presence of God’s Glorious Beauty. Silver and gold flecks appear when she worships. God dances with her as she lives and breathes. The purity of her heart causes my heart to sing. For me, to be with her, as she worships, is to sit directly on Papa’s lap with my arms wrapped around Him. (OK, now, Susan, don’t worry … nobody has any expectations of you … just enjoy … and let the anointing flow… smile)
