SUKKOT????????? SAY WHAT???????

A road curves its way up the mountain, with gorgeous views, a 40x60 worship tent is decorated like a sukkah (tabernacle) and an even larger pole barn, roof only, is being erected, bathrooms and showers are being installed, permits drawn… camping tents being purchased, land being leveled, trees being mulched … worshipers and workshop leaders being invited, a schedule being created …

WHY??? A SUKKOT CELEBRATION IS BEING FORMED.

It’s all about intimacy with God, His Creation, each other and ourselves. Sitting with God under His vast canopy of lights, camping, eating yummy food, praising Him through worship and workshops, being filled with THANKSGIVING, JOY, LAUGHTER, PEACE, CELEBRATION, and WONDER, and sharing His delight with others.

We are encouraged to invite our neighbors, even strangers, to join us for Sukkot. You can watch the movie “Ushpizin" to find out …

AND … SO … YOU ARE INVITED!

SCRIPTURES ABOUT SUKKOT

“Now on the last and greatest day of the festival, (Sukkot) Yeshua stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him keep coming to me and drinking! Whoever puts his trust in Me, as the Scripture says, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38

“Speak to the sons of Israel, saying ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is Sukkot, the Feast of Booths, for seven days to the LORD. On the first day is a holy convocation, you will not do any laborious work. For seven days you will present an offering by fire to YHVH. On the eighth day you will have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to YHVH; it is an assembly. You will not do any laborious work.… (39-43) On exactly the 15th day of the 7th month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you will celebrate the feast of YHVH for seven days, with a Shabbat rest on the first day and a Shabbat rest on the 8th day. Now on the first day you will take for yourselves the products of beautiful trees, palm branches and branches of trees with thick branches and willows of the brook, and you will rejoice before YHVH your God for seven days. So you will celebrate it, a feast to YHVH for seven days in the year, a permanent statute throughout your generations; you will celebrate it in the seventh month. You will live in tents for seven days, all the native-born in Israel will live in booths, so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Isrsael live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am YHVH your God.” Lev 23:34-36
